It was a very quiet ride back to the church since it was so sobering for all of us.
Pray for us Monday. The heat is oppressive.

Thoughts before bed
We took a short trip today to see a home and neighborhood that was 12 feet under water. I will post some pictures tomorrow night. The devastation is almost indescribable. Entire neighborhoods remain ghost towns now almost two years later.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all so much that I may as well be down there with you. I can't seem to focus much on anything else here at home. I am praying for strength and good health and positive attitudes as you begin your work today. I know it is very hot and humid...stay hydrated. You all are tremendous!

Good Morning! I've been praying for your day ahead. Bob told me a bit about what his group will be doing this morning--so I'm praying for him, Scott L, Laura, Kelsey, Jesse, Kristan, Heather, Eric and Sam--that you all will have endurance and strength to do the yard work, that God will sustain you through the heat, that your machinery will work properly, and that your work together will be pleasing and honoring to God.
I'm looking forward to hearing about what the sheetrocking teams do today as well! I am praying for you, too!
I wrote something down from Pastor Frederich's message yesterday that speaks directly to what you guys are doing. He said, "Have eyes to see earth's troubles as heaven's opportunities--and seize them." I praise God that is what you are all there to do!
It's early Monday morning and I am picturing everyone just getting up and getting ready for your day. Thank you for this blog that keeps us in touch. I have prayed for strength for each one of you as you begin your work projects. Remember that God has placed you in New Orleans at this time for a purpose that He knows is best for you. You will be blessed for stepping out in faith and being obedient to Him. Focus on Him as you go through your day. Lots of love and prayers have been sent your way...
