Just wanted to let you all know that there wasn't a dry eye in the room tonight as we all heard your voices, listened to your one word descriptions of your emotions, and then went on to pray for all of your prayer requests. It is very moving as an adult to hear grown men's voices crack with emotion and to hear our kids try to describe, in one word, a multitude of emotions. I think we have the best group of youth and leaders in the country! We parents discovered tonight that we are all doing the same things.....checking the blog every hour (or more), wondering constantly how you are holding up and what you are experinecing, and of course, praying many, many times throughout the day.

May you all get a good night's sleep tonight, and awake refreshed for another day of physical, emotional and spiritual work!

Let God be your refuge and your strength.
Ps. 46:1

What amazing work you did on this lawn!! I especially love all the big smiles I see on your faces in the AFTER picture--you must have been completely exhausted yet you smile and hold on to each other!

Thank you so much for talking with us last night and sharing some of what you're feeling and experiencing. We loved soaking up every word. After we hung up, each of us quickly wrote down all the requests you shared. Then we had a very special time of prayer together--one I will never forget. Please know that you are each loved so very much. I am so thankful that God invites us to pray, to pour out our hearts to Him and He promises to hear and act.
Psalm 29:10,11 says, "The LORD rules over the floodwaters. The LORD reigns as king forever. The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace." We're praying that as you meet and talk with more people of New Orleans, God's strength and peace will flow through you to them.
